The vineyards that produce d’Amico’s Atlante located in Lazio, north of Rome close to the border of Umbria at an altitude of about 450m. The combination of the gentle climate of central Italy with the clayey, limestone-rich soil, makes this location incredibly unique. The grapes are harvested manually in October and transported in 25kg crates where they are fermented in stainless steel for 20 days. Aging in new French oak takes place over 10 months, with another 10 months spent in bottles. The resulting wine is a treasure from d’Amico – a striking wine that perfectly expresses the otherworldly beauty of the Calanchi limestone cliffs.
